Our NFT fueled Animated Series and the Power of fan collaboration through Live Storytime Events

Natalie and I (Jeff) have long held that to build an idea it requires an audience, a community. Whether your hardcore fan of sneakers, or big into World of Warcraft, we are all fans of something, and we all enjoy being apart of the bigger community that loves these things like we do! But we never felt connected to these brands or IP, more adjacent to them.

A sideline of fandom, not an integrated fandom, and it was on these sidelines we watched and cheered on our favorite shows, movies and merch with little ownership over the worlds they created or the characters we love, for decades.

Then Nat and I found NFTs, and more notably the power of smart contracts ( more on that in our other article “Finding use cases for NFTs as an indie animation studio.”) which give us the creators the power to truly give our fans ownership over a piece of our world and IP, and let them help shape their future!

The more traditional use cases for our NFTs such as access to exclusive content, behind the scenes, and a more intimate relationship with our studio an the team of passionate artists who make it, are all an integral part of our idea. But there is one particular aspect we have honed in on, that changes our perspective on how animation can be for us all.

Live Story Time events, evolving how fans interact with their favorite cartoons.

- How live Storytime Events Work -

We are doing what’s called “Live Storytime Event” or LSE. One of our team can choose to sit as showrunner, honing their craft by bringing a bit-sized animated short to life from script to screen.

With the LSE’s the showrunner basically sits as game master over an RPG of our world, starting with an idea for their short set somewhere in our not so fair city, with a handpicked cast of our NFT characters.

From here we go live like a roleplaying livestream event, but it is here our team sits down and role plays through the idea with the showrunner and come up with hilarious dialogue, ridiculous events, and flesh out an idea for an animated short THAT WE WILL ACTUALLY PRODUCE!

But it goes beyond than that, during this event our NFT collectors can join in on the fun through chat offering ideas, jokes, gags, skits, dialogue, fan art, ANYTHING to engage with us while we develop live with you!

This is a safe collaborative space where our team, our community and our NFTs will come to life, fill out our world and lore, and where we can all bond over our creation like never before!

On the NFT side, our NFT collectors will have any of their NFTs that appear in an episode or short, be updated with a timestamp and episode number in their metadata, signifying they are OG characters who appear in our animated world!

- Setting a Realistic Goal of Success -

Its easy for us to promise this new future, not only because we have our community help shape it, but because we have taken the time to asses our goals and set a foundational and realistic road-map to reach them!

To start we will be hosting 1 LSE per month and hope to grow to 4 a month, developing 4 animated shorts in tandem. To achieve this higher level of success our entire team actually takes a break from the main production of our show once a week for an entire workday, to focus on helping our showrunners realize their shorts.

This is beneficial to us all, from our foundation of phenomenal fans, up to our entire team of passionate creatives, all who help one another prosper and grow WITH an animated world together.

By choosing a simpler style for our world, developing tools that let us automate much of the process between production and our NFTs, and redefining the animation pipeline to allow all these assets to be a part of our animated universe, we have taken the steps to ensure our small indie team and slowly grow into this idea, opposed to over promising and rushing to catch up!

Our team has even donated the last 4 years of their free time to building the assets, art, scripts, shot lists storyboards, animatics, and NFT art all to life before we came to ask for your help. Much of which we live streamed on our Youtube!

- This is our Vision. -

This is our vision for a new industry of interactive animation, one we hope to expand into games, conventions, VR, and the larger metaverse that is evolving around the content we all love!
